Don’t sign anything during a divorce without speaking to your attorney. Ok, I know what you are thinking, “oh sure, more billable hours for my attorney”. Yes, this will cost you money. The bigger question is; what is... the cost if you do not have competent legal advice? The cost can be great!

The worst case scenario is that you may inadvertently surrender certain rights that you have under the North Carolina General Statutes. You may also create a situation where that simple custody agreement you believed be to easily modifiable, is now not so simple to change. Finally, you may lose the opportunity to pursue certain torts against other parties. Just be aware; for every action there will be an equal and opposite reaction.
